Debut of The Southern Oregon Opry at The Provolt Grange in Provolt, Oregon.
PROVOLT, OR A brand new local organization, The Southern Oregon Opry, will be holding their debut event on Friday, November 8th, 2013 at the Provolt Community Center (formerly known as the Provolt Grange). Modeled after the famous Grand Ole’ Opry, the evening’s event will host a live music showcase of three local bands Bear Creek Band, Sage Meadows & High Country, and the Turner Moore Band. The event is all ages, children 13 and under are free. Tickets cost $10, and the doors open at 5:00pm. Food will be catered by Cocina 7 Taqueria, featuring a locally raised pork roast and local produce.
The primary mission of The Southern Oregon Opry organization is to foster and nourish cultural heritage and values through perpetuating the tradition of playing and enjoying music. In this case, the organization highlights American roots music, which proudly features elements from the music of our American past. Through hosting showcases of musical acts that foster these
values, the Opry hopes to provide the community with enjoyable, family friendly access to the genre, in turn facilitating inspiration and appreciation for music.
