Bay Area newgrass jam band Hot Buttered Rum has been described as a rock band playing bluegrass instruments (the band members themselves call what they do "high altitude California bluegrass"), and with musical influences ranging from blues, rock, and jazz to Celtic and old-time string band music from the Appalachians, the group could almost be termed bluegrass fusion.
Hot Buttered Rum’s years of touring have given the band the chance to work and play with a wide cross-section of musicians, people like Phil Lesh, Chris Thile, Brett Dennen, and Robert Earl Keen. Seasoned veteran Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), acoustic guru Mike Marshall, and left-coast rocker Tim Bluhm (Mother Hips, Nicki Bluhm) have all produced studio albums for the band. Each guided HBR towards the next step in its evolution. It’s a sound that’s as tough to describe as it is easy to love, and it has found its way to the most prestigious pop, folk, and bluegrass stages in the country: Telluride, Newport, Bonnaroo, Strawberry, Hardly Strictly, Kate Wolf, Horning’s Hideout, String Summit, Grey Fox, All Good, High Sierra, Wakarusa, and many more.
In August, the band performed at the opening of the nationally televised Giants game at AT&T Stadium in San Francisco. They did a fresh, vibrant version of the Giant’s fight song as well as a bluegrass arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner.

The Rogue Rebellion at the G Street Bar & Grill in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon.
The Rogue Rebellion wants to restore the musical constitution by creating original non-corporate music that is both edgy and eclectic. With a variety of instrumentation including violin, electric and acoustic guitar, piano, organ, rhodes, accordion, both male and female vocals, and a relentlessly solid rhythm section on bass and drums, this band creates a giant explosive sound that transcends all genres and eras. They have been likened to greats such as The Doors, The B-52's, Go Go Bordello and AC/DC, all while composing an entirely new musical experience that is uniquely their own. Rock, Funk, Reggae, Bluegrass, Disco, Trip Hop, Classical, Ska, Cajun, Metal, Irish, Punk, even a mean Cumbia..... This band plays it all, and keeps the party rocking till the break of dawn.
