Four Generations - A family with roots deeply in agriculture and production.

From the beginning of the twentieth century up until the present fourth generation, the Root family has been deeply involved in the region's agricultural industry, serving as a grower, packer, shipper to over two thousand acres of pears in the Rogue River Valley bound for destinations around the world. The EdenVale Winery facility and visitor center is located on property widely recognized as the birthplace of Oregon’s commercial pear industry at Eden Valley Orchards, which began in 1885, by Joseph H. Stewart. Amidst this significant historic setting surrounded by pear orchards, the Root family now concentrates on making the finest wines in southern Oregon, specializing in Syrah, Viognier, Cab Franc, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the same passion and great care that has always been an important family tradition.

The small, family owned and operated production facility has a singular purpose to produce world-class, handcrafted wines. Our production system is continuously updated and monitored to ensure the each vintage is the best it can be.

A rare musical event is coming to southern Oregon. Singer/songwriter, MATIA, who will be performing at the Country Crossing Music Festival on July 29th (10 am Boxcar Stage) at The Expo has announced that she has added a special one night only show on Sunday, July 30th, 2017 at 6:30pm. The recently scheduled concert will be held at EdenVale Winery and feature her All-Star band consisting of Los Angeles based award-winning musicians. In addition to boasting Emmy Awards and Platinum and Gold selling records, this ensemble has played and recorded with the Who's Who in the music business. Combined, their resumes include live performances and studio work in multiple genres (rock, pop, r&b, blues, jazz) and extensive global awards for TV and Film.

" I wanted to create something more intimate for the local community while my band was here in the Rogue Valley. When I asked them about adding another day to the tour, they were very excited about playing at one of the local wineries." said Matia. Her producer and notable session guitarist, Kenny Mazur (Robert Palmer, The O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, INXS and more), had visited the area last year and enjoyed his stay so much that he spread the word to other successful session and touring musicians from Los Angeles. Traveling from southern California and joining Mazur on guitar is Jon Woodhead (Leon Russell, ACE, Maria Muldaur, Dave Koz) and Emmy Award winning keyboardist, David L. Hamilton. "We were lucky to get David here for this show. He is working on a major film in London but is able to fill in for Steve Robbins (Robert Palmer, Sting, Ashford & Simpson, Irene Cara among many others), who is based in LA. Steve is playing on my new CD but unexpectedly couldn't make this trip.", explained Matia. Drummer, David Bolen, who is also recording tracks for Matia's upcoming CD will be the rhythmic anchor for the live ensemble. Renown herbalist and bassist, Donnie Yance (Martha Stewart Show) will round out the All-Star band.

Jennifer Barkley, a spokesperson, from EdenVale Winery said, "We are honored to host this amazing event. Last time we had a major concert was when Jim Belushi played here at EdenVale Winery. We are expecting a sell-out crowd again because its a rare chance for our community to hear, meet and hang out with these incredible musicians. We are only selling 200 tickets this time. " The winery will be serving wine and food for purchase along with chair and table seating. Tickets are $32 and being sold at local merchant outlets: The Music Coop (Ashland), HillTop Music (Phoenix), Cheese Monger's Wife (Jacksonville) and EdenVale Winery (Medford). Tickets can also be purchased on-line at MatiaMusic.com. All seats are general admission except VIP tables of eight can be purchased and reserved on-line. EdenVale Winery is located at 2310 Voorhies Road, Medford Oregon. The All-Star concert begins at 6:30pm on July 30th, 2017.

"It will be an evening of fine wine, food, friends and great music!" explained Matia.

News Reels brought home the battlefront during the “Big War.” Through the fabulous 50′s, and the turbulent 60′s the theatre attracted crowds to downtown Grants Pass. As years passed, the advent of television, multiplex cinemas and shopping malls made it difficult for the aging theatre to compete. Closing it’s doors in 1999

Y&T at The Historic Rogue Theatre in Grants Pass Oregon.
Before Mötley Crüe, before RATT, even before there was a Metallica, Y&T was slogging away in sweaty rock clubs around America. When the band formed in the early 1970s, little did they know they would set the standard for hard rock bands that trailed. Many of the biggest acts of the ’80s became popular opening for headliners Y&T—and cut their teeth on the band, as evidenced by the Y&T mentions in tell-all books by acts such as Metallica and Mötley Crüe.

Born in Oakland, California, Y&T is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s own innovators of the hard rock sound. Whether performing to a festival crowd of fifty-thousand or in an intimate nightclub, Y&T’s high-energy set and passionate performances still captivate legions of fans around the globe, proving Y&T’s music timeless.

Originally formed as Yesterday and Today, the initial powerhouse quartet—featuring Dave Meniketti (lead guitar/lead vocals), Phil Kennemore (bass), Leonard Haze (drums), and Joey Alves (rhythm guitar)—tore through the ’70s and ’80s with their own brand of hard rock. Prepare to have your face melted!

Jackyl at The Historic Rogue Theatre in Grants Pass, Oregon.
It’s been nearly 20 years since Jackyl shot out of Georgia with its wild, untamed and uncouth approach to rock ‘n’ roll. Equal parts hard rock, heavy metal and Southern rock, Jackyl formed in 1991 and brought back rock ‘n’ roll back — back to its down-to-earth, wild, fun-loving origins. Full of spit and swagger — and a “dirty” sense of humor to boot — Jackyl quickly earned a deal with Geffen Records. Jackyl’s live shows were already legendary before the ink dried on the Geffen contract.
