From the moment Robbie Dacosta strolls into the room, he is on. Dacosta is the consummate entertainer, working the room and charming the crowd with a certainty and satisfaction in his being. With a repertoire that spans generations and styles and includes artists such as Tom Waits, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, TheCoasters, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Smoky Robinson and more, Dacosta doesn’t just cover these, he becomes these. And then there’s his trusty companion – his Gretsch, as yet unnamed according to their agreement: “Until I tickle her G-string enough, she won’t tell me her name.” She must be one insatiable little guitar because Robbie lets fly with some rockin’, crunchy riffs, and doesn’t skip any strings.
